What to do during a hurricane
Outside the wind is blowing, the trees are shaking, and the rain is coming down like never before. To stay safe

STAY INSIDE! This is the number one rule that everyone needs to follow!
Listen and watch the TV and radio for updated information on the storm.
Secure you home: close shutters and windows, and secure items to the ground.
Turn off all utilities and turn the refrigerator onto it's lowest temperature.
Avoid using the phone, only if it is an extreme emergency.
Fill the bathtub and sinks with water for your usage.
Evacuate if necessary (if you live in a high-rise building, on the shore, or in an area that is hazardous).
If unable to evacuate, shelter in a safe room. The safe room should be a small interior room, closet, or hallway on the lowest level. Lie on the floor under a table or sturdy object.
